As we change the future of mobility, we are committed to contributing to a more sustainable world.
Our goal: decarbonizing the company by 2030
Every day, we make significant progress towards our two main goals: decarbonizing our operations by 2030 and our supply chain by 2045.
As part of our sustainability journey, we partner with customers and suppliers to address the urgency of climate change, the importance of social equity, and the opportunities for a circular economy along our value chain. And we are doing it at speed.
We have achieved several of our sustainability goals ahead of schedule, and in the coming years, we are committed to surpassing even more ambitious targets - we want our stakeholders to feel proud of choosing Marelli.
Our key priorities
We are focused on what matters most to bring about tangible change. We have identified five core areas:
Products and technologies: Sustainable by design
We are committed to integrating sustainability in every aspect of Design-Led Innovation, offering vehicle makers flexibility to create driving experiences that resonate with users. Our approach prioritizes sustainable materials, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and recyclability.
Operations: Accelerating progress on our sustainability goals
In 2023, we exceeded our sustainability goals in water use and energy efficiency, completed the SA8000 self-assessment across all sites, and conducted a climate risk assessment to fine-tune our strategy. We use speed, multi-tasking and discipline to pay attention to climate resilience, energy, health, labor, and human rights.
Supply chain: Making sustainability a sourcing priority
We are challenging our partners along the supply chain to provide tangible data and to accelerate their sustainability efforts. We began ESG assessments for new suppliers and developed a process for collecting data on Scope 3 emissions.
People: Promoting an engaging and inclusive workplace
Our objective in 2023 was to establish an inclusive workplace that drives growth and engagement while prioritizing the safety and well-being of our people. We have significantly expanded our offering for training and further driven diversity and inclusion. 91% of our sites have obtained a certification according to the ISO45001 occupational health and safety standard.

We encourage our suppliers and partners to join us on our fast-paced journey towards achieving measurable goals. We’d like to assure our customers of our strong dedication to co-creating solutions following Design for Sustainability principles, as well as continuously driving the sustainability of our operations and supply chain further.
Marelli received a gold medal from EcoVadis
EcoVadis is the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings due to a global network of more than 130,000 rated companies. This acknowledgement positions Marelli within the top 5% of all companies assessed by EcoVadis across various industries.
We are part of UN Global Compact
We are signatories of the UN Global Compact and adhere to its ten principles in human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.
